Firstly we remove the wheels from the vehicle leaving the vehicle safe on jacks and axle stands, the tyre is masked, we then machine the damaged areas, prep the wheel for painting, paint the wheel and then lacquer, bringing the wheel back to its original colour and condition (all wheels are torqued to manufacturers specification).
The best method to keep your wheel clean is to regularly clean the wheel with soap and water, using a sponge to get into all the spokes and corners.
We recommend in staying away from alloy cleaning products. Some wheel cleaners use acid to help remove brake dust and other road grime. This acid will attack the clear coat and paint on the wheel and can, in some cases, cause discoloration after just one application. It is best to use only soap and water to clean your wheels.
We use air power tools and sand out the scratches and reshape the alloy back to a smooth finish, then apply a primer, a colour paint and then lacquer the wheel for a top coat finish.
Generally, it takes between 60 to 90 minutes to repair and repaint your wheel all depending on the size and type of damage.
No, we repair the wheels in our mobile workshop, (a Mercedes sprinter) so you don’t have to send your wheels away for repairs.
It is best not to get the wheel wet for at least 24hrs, it’s even better if you can leave it for 2 to 3 days to really cure properly.
